Leather Crafting 101: Online Demo & Tutorial
March 13, 2021 – 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm EST
Learn the basics of working with leather! Maybe you want to try your hand at making some kink toys, or maybe you just want to be more educated about the process when shopping for leather goods. This presentation will go through the basics of leather working, starting with cutting a leather strip from a hide and ending with a finished product. Tools and their proper use will be demonstrated in a combination of video and live discussion. You will learn how to cut leather, make holes, finish edges, dying techniques, and the different options available as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each. Even if you never make a thing, knowing the processes and tradeoffs will make you a more informed shopper!
About @Scorpionleather: I started dabbling in leather working about 20 years ago, after becoming unsatisfied with the quality of products being produced locally. Focus is on quality, not quantity. Custom work, made to order, made to specific sizes is my primary focus. My day job is as an engineer, so strength, durability and functionality are considered in any design. Custom Collars are my favorite thing!
